Choose from 6 QuickTime movies:
The first three deal with making the main Screen Height Joint move; the toughest job we have to tackle, due to the design. The others are demos of our #2 (Twirling Monitor) iMac. No, I canÕt show the servo-operated one work yet; weÕre still building it!
The first movie (3.1 mb) is a test with the Height Adjusting joint operated via servo:
Advantages: No puppeteers or rods visible
Disadvantage: Slower, not as smooth
---------------------------
The second (3.8mb) is operated via cable:
Advantages: No puppeteers visible, Smoother, Faster
Disadvantage: Medium speed, may see control cables
---------------------------
The third (1 mb) is operated via rod, by hand:
Advantages: Much spontaneity, freedom of movement
Disadvantage: Not as ÒpreciseÓ, must erase rod and/or puppeteer(s)
---------------------------
The fourth (1.4mb) is of our ÒTwirlingÓ iMac (electric motor operated by switch), with a puppeteer directly behind it:
---------------------------
The fifth (2.2 mb) is of our ÒTwirlingÓ iMac (electric motor operated by switch), with a puppeteer off to the side, operating it with a long rod:
